A friend of mine is convinced of this: "You know the Cheney energy task force papers from summer 2001 that Cheney is suing to keep locked up? Why does he care so much? Why does Scalia care so much? Why can't Scalia recuse himself for one measly case? They have no problems with the crony capitalism currently going on in Iraq, giving handouts to KBR and Halliburton. There must be something else. THE TASK FORCE PAPERS CALL FOR THE TAKEOVER OF IRAQ. Iraq had a large number of contracts with France and Russia that the US was not in on. US energy companies stood to make a lot of money if they could get a share of these contracts and the executives of these companies knew it. Their important people went to Dick Cheney and suggested taking over Iraq and shredding the existing oil contracts and writing them all out to America. Why doesn't the US go to the UN now? because if the UN were in control, France and Russia would have their contracts and the US wouldn't be able to achieve its original goal of redistributing Iraqi oil reserves. I told ____ that she should share this conspiracy theory with all her friends. She told me they weren't concerned with the minutiae of politics. this isn't minutiae. the vice president of the US has the blood of over 600 American soldiers on his hands in the name of corporate profiteering. the president and vice president lied to their country and used this very sensitive war on terror to increase the paychecks of a few rich Americans."
