Today I woke at 5:30am and went to the 1st day of fitness boot camp. We did baseline testing. My results were (I think - will update if incorrect once I get them from the coach):
run 1.5 miles: 16 mins, 38 secs
# of straight-body push-ups: 10
# of crunches in 60 seconds: 22
plank: 45 secs
wall sit: 2:20 mins
I'll add my body measurements too, once the coach emails them. I can't remember what they were because I was just focusing on breathing and not falling down from all the work they made us do.
Bicep: 11"
Waist: 30" (ugh, I remember that one. I think she had the measuring tape too loose)
Thigh: 21.5"
I'm the oldest person in the camp and 3rd from having the worst times/numbers. This means I'm bound to improve by the end of the 5 weeks, right?
They said nothing to drink but water for the next 5 weeks. I'm already breaking that rule by having some delicious hibiscus mint tea (no sugar). Plain old water is boring. I did go buy a case of Gerolsteiner yesterday so maybe that will encourage me to drink more water. And there's a can of Guinness in my frig that really belongs to someone else...if I don't gulp it first.
I really really hope this boot camp helps me get my hardbody back. I miss it.
my tiny bits
random notes to myself (and you) about mostly anything maybe.
