my tiny bits

random notes to myself (and you) about mostly anything maybe.

Where were you on September 11, 2001? I was in Moscow, ID where the population seemed to be very unconcerned with what was going on in NYC. It's also where they sell fishing bait in a soda-like vending machine in front of the local convenience store.

I've not been to New Orleans since Katrina. While in college, I went there very frequently, sometimes spending Thursday-Sunday club hopping and seeing music shows. I loved the old NOLA. Here are some stories of how things are there these days.

What do you eat? FishWatch provides useful information to making choices about seafood. Being a pescatarian, I eat fish (mostly wild salmon) almost every day. A couple of years ago I got my mercury level tested via Greenpeace. The results were well within the safe zone. And doing the test was fun! I want to get my DNA genealogy done someday.

At work, I sit in cube land. Today I'm being treated to opera from the speakers of person sitting in my vicinity. Usually it's Mariah Carey or 80s hair bands. There are these things called headphones....they are pretty cool.

Maybe you read about those six nuclear missiles that were "mistakenly" flown in launch position on a B52 over the western U.S. by our army. Some of us are wondering why more questions are not being asked about this incident.

And finally, who cares if Britney Spears is not anorexic? Jeez, it's even worse than the "Owen Wilson tries to commit suicide" headlines.
